Comptroller: “PM Sharon Distributed Millions Without Approval”

Excerpts:

“MK Uri Ariel (National Union) told the committee that a certain IDF general told him a few years ago that, ‘the IDF doesn’t count MKs’ – meaning the IDF does not need to worry about Knesset approval to receive its funding.

“Chairman of the Knesset Defense Committee Yuval Steinitz (Likud) is calling for doing away with the Joint Committee for the Defense Budget altogether due to its failure to prevent unilateral decisions to be made by the prime minister.”

Ramon: Sharon will Unilaterally Withdraw to Final Borders if Palestinian Terror Continues

Sharon’s Oft-Recycled Bogus Rationale … MB

Excerpt:

“Ramon explained that Sharon will not tell the public this before the elections because he wants to give the Road Map, that requires the Palestinians to break up the terror infrastructure before there are talks with withdrawal to final borders at the completion of the talks – a chance before unilaterally withdrawing to the final borders.

Commentary:

The Regime never tires in it’s utter, complete disdain for the people. We all know that this announcement is NOT being made for any altruistic reason, like giving the “Road Map” a chance.

It is plain to see that such an announcement to the people of true intent loses the ballgame for the timing is not right and more brainwashing is needed. It’s too soon after the pain and agony of Gush Katif and the Shomron towns.

Like with boiling a lobster, yet again the Am will have “to make the necessary internal changes.” And, as someone emailed me asking rhetorically; “Why? To prevent sudden, Israel-wide realization that specific local politicians are determined to end the existence of Judaism and its refined adherents.” MB

Likud Central Committee to Meet for First Time Since Sharon’s Exit

The Shaul Mofaz Show?

Excerpts:

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz will make his maiden appearance before the committee as a declared candidate for the party leadership. While Sharon headed the party, Mofaz’s contact with the committee was minimal, and his few appearances were usually brief.”

“Mofaz has been preparing for a potential leadership bid for the past six months, and has recruited 50 high-ranking reserve army officers to get him elected as party chairman.”

“Mofaz began quietly preparing his race long before Prime Minister Ariel Sharon decided to quit the party. However, he never intended to run against Sharon; the preparations were always aimed at the post-Sharon era in the Likud, whether it arrived sooner or later.

“As part of these preparations, he secretly set up several forums with which he met regularly. One of these is composed of 50 senior reserve officers – with rank of colonel and above – whose mission was to set up a broad network of volunteers throughout the country to work for Mofaz’s campaign. The forum’s members include brigadier generals Micha Tamir, Zvika Fuchs, Eli Aharoni and Nir Galili.

On Wednesday, Mofaz gave the officers an updated list of Likud members, who will elect the party chairman in a December 19 primary. The list was divided up by geographic region, and on Thursday, the officers and the volunteers whom they have recruited will begin a telephone campaign to persuade Likud members to support Mofaz.
