Supporting Peres: The Hypocracy of Greed of “Religious” Parties and their Leaders

The Shas party and its leader’s support for Shimon Peres’ once again exposes their hypocracy; the deep disparity between their professed Torah values Torah values (i.e. promissing “OLam Haba” in campaigning for votes) vs their political actions; the shameful corruption and hypocracy of greed visible for all to see. What’s in it for me? What’s in it for me?

And by no means is Shas alone. It is indeed a study in the concept of “Divide and Conquer” how ALL of the religious alignments, Shas, Aguda (Gimmel) and Mafdal will find religious values expedient vs the “almighty” $$ or NIS for THEIR institutions and will fall all over themselves at any Regime “promise” or “guarantee,” most which are never kept.

When considering a Peres presidency, take serious note of the following;

A number of Peres quotes appear in Hillel Fendel’s recent report for Israel National News;

  • “What King David did was not Jewish.” (Yediot Acharonot, Feb. 15, 1994)
  • “Partitions between the Jewish Nation and the goyim must be eradicated.” (UNESCO conference 1994)
  • “There is nothing to be proud of in Jewish history.” (UNESCO conference 1990)
  • “Jewish youth must divorce our past.” (UNESCO conference 1999)
  • “The rabbis are deceivers.” (Yediot Acharonot, April 15, 1990)

Another famous Peres quote, not cited in the poster, is this from 1996, the day after he lost the national election to Binyamin Netanyahu:
Interviewer: What happened in these elections?
Peres: We lost.
Interviewer: Who is we?
Peres: We, that is the Israelis.
Interviewer: And who won?
Peres: All those who do not have an Israeli mentality.
Interviewer: And who are they?
Peres: Call it the Jews.

Here are some other Peres statements which, when taken with the above, indicate conclusively that Shimon Peres IS NOT a fit candidate for the presidency and that if Shas and it’s leader supports him, they have then totally compromised the Torah values which they themselves profess to possess;

A President Peres Would Pardon Barghouti

Excerpt;
“…Peres has stated unequivocally that if elected President, …he would pardon Barghouti.

Peres: The Kassam Rockets Cannot Be Stopped

Excerpt;
“… People [read: the people of Sderot and the Negev] should keep calm and ’stop crying and whining about the rocket attacks.’”

Pollard Supporters: Peres Won’t Ask for Pardon, by Hillel Fendel (Israel National News)

Excerpt;
Jonathan Pollard; “His election would be a “death sentence for me.”

Fendel writes;

The incarcerated Israeli agent maintains that Peres promised the Americans, back in 1985, that he would help them prosecute Pollard.

Peres even gave the U.S. the papers that Pollard had provided Israel, and then lied, Pollard claims, in saying that he had secured a promise from the US not to use the papers to incriminate Pollard. Pollard says that even now, Peres continues to lie now to protect his own career, and that Peres told Israeli officials who wished to help the incarcerated agent, “It’s either Pollard or me.”

Pollard supporters fear that if Peres were to be elected President, he would not ask the U.S. President to pardon Pollard. Larry Dubb of Jerusalem, who has served as Pollard’s attorney for 21 years, pro-bono, told Arutz-7, “I’m concerned that if Mr. Peres becomes the president, he will continue his campaign of the past 22 years and not lift a finger to help Pollard or ask for his pardon.”

  4. […] That the chareidi religious parties and their leaders — note the plural — did not display the same fervor about confronting yesterday’s event as they did regarding last summer’s seems an example of poor, flawed judgement — the same flaws exposed by their support for Oslo, their entry into Sharon’s expulsion coalition, their vote opposing a national referendum on disengagement, and finally, their votes which made Shimon Peres president. 5. […] Perhaps an apt example of the type of zealousness described above, short of the level of Pinchas, would have been a high military commander who would have forthrightly refused to be part of, or refuse to cooperate with, or refuse to command his troops and brigades to be facilitators of an expulsion in Gush Katif, the Shomron or in Amona. Or, perhaps zealousness would be a prominent political/religious leader who would have thumbed his nose up at either monetary compensation for his Yeshivas or schools, or any other enticement and who would have ordered his people to vote against, rather than to vote for Shimon Peres for president.
