Sunday War News; Or Lack Thereof on Eve of Olmert, Abbas Yericho Meeting

.

It never ceases to amaze this author how, on the eve of an Olmert, Abbas meeting, this time on Monday in Yericho, things suddenly become peaceful — no Kassams launched from Gaza, no IAF raids, no arrests, no snipping or stoning attacks on roads in Yehuda and Shomron, no infiltrations into Israel, no explosive devices thrown at IDF soldiers near Shechem; nothing, absolute quiet since Saturday night.

As Olmert is about to offer further “gestures (sic)” = appeasement or further surrender to Abbas by way of opening Israel’s borders including;

Granting work permits to 30,000 PA workers, and another 20,000 to merchants seeking to sell their products to Israelis. Other “gestures” could include developing a second list of Fatah-affiliated terrorists that Olmert would release from Israeli prisons, in return for the terrorists’ promise to behave, as well as the IDF’s redeploying outside PA cities, which would allow terrorists to plan attacks against Israel unhindered.

The quiet today seems quite contrived.

Doesn’t it seem that Olmert’s news censors and spin-masters are feverishly at work preventing reports and the true facts about terror attacks upon Jews, Kassam blitzes from Gaza, explosive devices thrown at IDF soldiers, etc. from seeing light of day.

All of a sudden, the Olmert censors and mind-police would have us believe that peace has broken out prior to surrendering more and more of our security and well-being to the avowed enemy being spun as a partner.

And what about the report that some 300 “West Bank(sic)” gunmen so far accepted Israel’s amnesty deal?

Never fear, the guns that these gunman return to Israel will speedily be replaced by Palestinian Admininstration-issued weapons. What a gimmick that Olmert, Livni, Haim Ramon, etc. have conspired in. MB

Abbas-Olmert Meeting in Jericho Confirmed

Full Text;

The office of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has confirmed that he will meet Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Jericho on Monday, the first time the two leaders will meet in Judea and Samaria. Previous plans for a meeting in Jericho have been thwarted by security concerns.

Prime Minister Olmert previously has said he will not skip over the Roadmap plan for temporary borders for a new Arab state. He also has said he will not talk with Abbas on “final status” issues, such as Jerusalem and the immigration of foreign Arabs, but instead is now using language such as “principles for an agreement.”

The Bush administration is anxious to present final plans for a new Arab state at a proposed international conference on the Middle East to be held in the United States in the fall.
