This author spent this past Shabbos with other members of Shul in Hevron. In what has become an annual trip to Hevron, the city of our roots, the place where our Patriarchs; Avraham, Yitzchak and Yaakov are buried with their wives; Sarah, Rifka and Leah, we endeavor to put ourselves in the proper mindset in advance of the Yom HaDin — Rosh Hashana. Below are some thoughts to contemplate as the Chagim draw closer.
Before Shabbos and during Shabbos afternoon, we were taken on tours and shown various locales in and around the Jewish section of Hevron where Jewish communities have been or are being established, property having been perfectly legally purchased from previous Arab owners and yet, these purchases agreements are contested by the politically agendized and protexia regime, the leftist, elitist Israeli “justice system” and the leftist, elitist, good-old-boys protexa Israeli bureacracy.
And the question of why Jew expells Jew; be it from Gush Katif, or from hilltops or from Shalhevet neighborhood, Beit Shapira or, as the regime hopes to do from Beit Shalom, or the 80,000 Jews it plans to expell from many Yishuvim in Yehuda and Shomron, is what lay beneath the rationales?
Why do successive regimes repeat the same mistakes, cloaked in different titles, catch-phrases or euphemisms; “land for peace (sic),” disengagement, “illegal (sic) hilltops, Roadmaps, convergence, consolidation, realignment, “peace-partner (sic),” etc.? Why are these collossal errors repeated again and again as in the oft-quoted analogy wih the movie Groundhog Day?
And why have these bogus terminologies seeped into the national psyche, eradicating all logic and self-pride? Why must we accept that there is a partner; an entity which NEVER met an agreement which they didn’t violate totally, completely? Why must we accept methodology of fighting wars which precludes or negates victory?
The point is; it’s not about “peace” — Olmert, Peres, Ramon, Beilin, Bibi too, the whole elitist, protexia crew — all know that there can never be peace with an enemy sworn to eradicate us. Hudna, and the rest of the Islamic synonyms are not terms equating with permanent peace and cooperation.
And yet, successive Israeli regimes dress their virulent, mindless, illogical hate and distain for Jewish heritage, for Torah in the above deceptive labels, catch-phrases and euphemisms. They know that Yehuda and Shomron, that Hevron and more are laden with finds traceable to Torah, to Jewish heritage. And so, the Olmerts, Peres’, Ramons, Beilins, the Bibis too and their whole politically correct crew would mindlessly and illogically put the entire nation in dire danger and peril in their folly to eradicate Israelis of all connection with their Jewish roots and heritage — to separate the Israeli from his Jewishness. And so they pursue their “nation among nations” mindset which they think will endear us to the nations, that the nations will take us to their bosom.
But as the elitist, protexia, anti-Torah politically-correct types punish and persecute us, the religious; the world, the nations, the Islamics all laugh disdainfully at our weakness, at our division. MB
