Regarding the Regime’s Plans for Jerusalem Handover: “If I Forget You, Oh Jerusalem…” Are the Jews “Not Getting It?”

.
Commentary;

As incredible as it seems, many Jews just don’t seem to be getting the message — Jerusalem and Har HaBayit; the heart of the Jewish people, the direction we pray to, what the Jews have longed for, strived for throughout the entire long Golus, is on the chopping block. And it is NOT by the hand of the nations — it is not by the hand of President Bush, or Condelezza Rice that it is on the block, but by the hands of Ehud Olmert and his Trial Balloon Man Haim “the pervert” Ramon.

Here is an excerpt from Evelyn Gordon’s column; “The Palestinians Don’t Want a State” of 25 October which puts the dire peril facing Jerusalem in clear focus;

…. Palestinians oppose any Israeli authority over the Temple Mount. In other words, they refuse to accept any Jewish rights in Judaism’s holiest site – and if Jews have no rights there, then by implication, they have no rights anywhere in Israel.

There it is, clear as day, the fly in Olmert’s and Ramon’s ointment which the Jews must press in any and all ways. To repeat;

If Jews have no rights there [Har HaBayit], then by implication, they have no rights anywhere in Israel.

This is what this author has been writing and saying for years; that if the Jews have no connection, and thus no rights in Jerusalem, at Har HaBayit, in Gush Etzion, in Yehuda, in the Shomron, then how do we have rights in Tel Aviv, Yaffa, Haifa, or Beit Shemesh for that matter?

And because the message seems not to be suffieciently penetrating the Jewish intellect, consciousness and mindset, there is little, if any organized, unified resistance manifested on any level — Not on the public, national, physical level where the magnitude of the threat seems not to be recognized and the argument for employment of the Ukrainian Model is thus not heard, as urgent and compelling as it is. And, Not on the spiritual level either where, the urgency is not felt, where it somehow seems too inconvenient to undertake programs manifesting an appeal on a spiritual plane on behalf of Jerusalem and Har HaBayit which B’Ezrat Hashem would beseech Shemayim to reverse this Gezeira Rah.

Batya of Shilomusings adds another dimension to the Jews not getting it;

Yitzchak Rabin was also tired. One of his confidants, sorry, but I forget who was talking, explained that during the Gulf War of US President Bush The First, Rabin…. looked at those Israelis fleeing their homes and knew that they were his kind of people, the ones whose votes he wanted. That’s why he liked the Oslo Accords. It suited Israelis who had no problem fleeing their homes. Even better, those Israelis got to keep their homes, while the patriotic Land of Israel loving Israelis would, G-d forbid, be exiled from theirs.

Yes, instead of offering leadership and encouragement to the Israeli citizens, Rabin packaged a plan based on the worst and weakest of the Israeli psyche.

And so Olmert and Ramon emulate Yitzchak Rabin and Oslo. And we just don’t get it. We just don’t seem to be inclined to step out of the box, to inconvenience ourselves, whether by way of the Ukrainian Model, Revava, by way of this blog’s painless, no cost, no jail suggestions of programs which will help IY’H to save Jerusalem and Har HaBayit, or by way of any program to confront the regime’s evil schemes.

Imagine; we don’t have time, it’s too much of a bother and too inconvenient to our lives to sign up as a plaintiff for Har HaBayit and send a simple fax and hardcopy letter expressing “power of attorney.”

In light of the above, the Hillel Fendel’s column below is a MUST-READ — for ALL Jews regardless of their venue. MB

Mobilizing to Face the Threat to Jerusalem, by Hillel Fendel (Israel NAtional News)

Excerpts;

Responding to the still little-known danger that critical parts of Jerusalem might soon be lost to the Jewish People, the Orthodox Union has sprung into action.

The OU is a prominent member of the newly-formed Coordinating Council for Jerusalem’s Future, a coalition of American-Jewish organizations dedicated to preventing Jerusalem from falling victim to the Annapolis summit. In a press release, the OU explains that it is taking action in light of “public statements by American, Israeli and Palestinian officials calling into question the fate of Jerusalem as the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish People.”

The OU’s actions include political lobbying by its Institute for Public Affairs in Washington, prayer and studies in synagogues across the United States, and more. A letter has been sent to rabbis across the country, reminding them to educate their congregants regarding both the sanctity of Jerusalem and the political dangers it now faces.
