President Shimon Peres said Tuesday that Israel emptied 30 Gaza communities of their residents in a difficult and painful process, ”but the result we received was Gaza’s transformation into a base for missile fire on Israel.”

“Israel will not accept a similar situation in Judea and Samaria and there will be no compromises on this matter,” he added. Peres was speaking at a reception for Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov.
