[...] How neatly Ehud Barak’s attack and promises of retribution upon these Shimshon Battalion members fits the mold set by his product, then-Chief-of-Staff Dan Halutz and his kippa-wearing lacky IDF manpower chief Elazar Stern. The two attempted to exact retibution against Chayal Hananel Dayan because the young soldier dared not shake the commander’s hand at an award ceremony. And how fascinating that the politically-agendized Halutz is a product of Ehud Barak’s own leftist political agendization, an agendization which was behind Barak’s entire military command career as well as his politically-motivated and unachievable ravings for massive draft of Hareidim. Those ravings attracted the non-religious and got him elected prime minister due to a splintered right-wing and self-interested “religious” parties. And isn’t it interesting that Barak’s star product, Halutz cared more about making Gaza Yudenrein and then, on the eve of the Lebanon conflict, allegedly more about his own financial position than on focusing on the nation’s security? How many different ways can one convey recurring news and proof upon proof that successive regimes, including Bibi’s with Barak as defense minister, have lost sight of who Israel’s enemies are and have let national security, hasbara and foreign affairs go to pot?
[...] Today’s Likud primary, coming as it is on the heels of the leftist Olmert-Barak-Livni regime’s recent pogrom at the Federman-Tor farm and last Thursday’s pogrom at Beit HaShalom (both at strategic positions between Kiryat Arba and Hevron), constitute a battle for both the Jewish soul and the Likud political, social and diplomatic soul.
