Barak, Mofaz vs Livni: Welcome to the WWF, Israel-Style

.

Commentary;

This author is no fan of either Ehud Barak or Shaul “One Foot Out the Door” Mofaz. But Mofaz is totally right regarding Livni, the Mossad House-sitter. She’s a lightweight contesting for a job way over her head and way over her intellectual and moral capability to perform.

Consider these comments by Mofaz, Barak and Livni in Gil Hoffman’s JPost report;

“Security does not mean just being a military man,” Livni told the Web site. “It’s looking beyond and evaluating a situation while taking into account regional, socioeconomic, and military processes, preparing systems and using good sense and judgment that is not based on familiarity with just one field. .
Commentary;

Here’s a report that oughta knock your socks off and get your backs up. It has been learned that Home Center, a popular Israeli owned home wares chain has been offering preferential “secret” discounts to “people belonging to a certain minority.” For those thinking that Hareidim, Moroccans, Ethiopians, S’fardim, foreign workers or IDF soldiers could buy at Home Center and receive a 10% minority discount — NOT!

A customer at a Home Center branch recently observed a cashier scanning each item being purchased with the message popping up on the register’s computer each time; “Minority Discount” with the cashier clicking “no” each time. [...]  Click here to read more.

.
While Prime Minister Olmert announced that he would not be running in the Kadima Party primaries and that he will resign in September, he is by no means out of the picture yet.

Barak of IRIS cites these political procedural protocals noted by Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman;

Kadima’s election committee decided on Tuesday to set an August 24 deadline to join the race, which it scheduled for September 17.

The winner in the Kadima primary will have until October 26 to submit his new government for approval by President Shimon Peres. [...]  Click here to read more.

Olmert Parody on Barak: “I Will Do Everything…” [To Hold Power?]

.
Commentary;

Defense Minister Ehud Barak keeps saying things like “I will do everything to bring him [Gilad Shalit] back” or “Israel would do everything in its power to see the safe return of captured Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit.” It is highly questionable what the limits of that “everything” are. For instance, does everything include liberation by military means?

Meanwhile, we have watched Barak’s coalition partner prime minister Ehud Olmert complete his 2 year charade concerning deceased IDF soldiers Regev and Goldwasser which, as Evelyn Gordon seems to indicate in her commentary below; [...]  Click here to read more.
