Livni: Israel Must Respond to Cease-Fire Violations, Fire Against Fire
Commentary;
After repeated documented “truce” violations including rocket and mortar fire through mid-July, Livni’s comments regarding Israeli responses are puzzling as there has not been a documented report of a “ceasefire” violation since mid-July. If all is quiet, why the “must respond” comments? Could there be a gag-order in place regarding “truce” violations? Is Livni delivering a hidden message? Could this message be politically motivated?

Two police officers were shot and seriously wounded late Friday night near the Lions Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem, police and rescue officials said…. The attacker was apparently not hit by the police fire. The suspected Palestinian assailant, who opened fire with a handgun on the security officials at close range under cover of darkness, fled the scene.

Commentary;
This is what happens when an Israeli government has a delusive, appeasing, supplicational, surrenderous mindset before it’s Islamic enemies who are sworn to her destruction. This is the result of governance which holds its governed hostage by tolerating Kassam and mortar barrages and by its freeing thousands of bloody-handed terrorists to kill more Jews, in exchange for Israeli captives; be they dead or alive. There are limits to Pidyon Sh’vuyim; national security, national defense and deterrence and Kiddush Hashem being but a few. MB

Commentary;
Visualize a multinational Arab force deployed in the area which would serve to both disrupt and provide safe haven and shielding for rocket and mortar launching cells as well as deployments preparatory to attacks upon Israel; in short, exactly what is happening in South Lebanon, only worse.
Further, about the truce itself, consider this from senior military sources;
It was not clear, however, what would constitute a breakdown of the cease-fire, with one official saying Israel would have a tough time responding to occasional and sporadic rocket fire.

This author would like to believe the report’s opening premise which says that the Gaza ceasefire; “is being viewed with skepticism by Israeli government and military officials, who doubt the Palestinian Arabs’ willingness to keep to the truce for very long.”
The report goes on to say;
The Gaza-based terror groups, led by Hamas, continue to develop an massive terrorist infrastructure on par with
Hizballah-controlled southern Lebanon and Taliban-
controlled Afghanistan, he explained.
