Livni on Olmert Dividing Jerusalem, Expelling 60,000 Jews: Denial or Total Tandem?

.
Commentary;

The Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman reports on Foreign Minister and Kadima party prime ministerial candidate Tzipi Livni’s denial of involvement with the concessions revealed in acting-prime minister Olmert’s recent Yediot Aharonot interview as having allegedly been made by the two of them during negotiations with PA president Mahmoud Abbas:

Will someone please tell this author how these two statements differ:

Olmert reported statement to US envoy George Mitchell:

He and Livni agreed to divide Jerusalem, maintain only settlement blocs in the West Bank and uproot 60,000 Jews from their homes. read more

Olmert, Livni, Ramon Dividing Jerusalem, Disdainful of Shas

.

Commentary;

The body of evidence that the Olmert, Livni, Ramon troika is dividing Jerusalem at this very moment; as we speak, as we write, continues to grow. And take note that the Jerusalem Post, for some reason, has completely edited out of it’s earlier report these words below spoken by Jerusalem Councilman Nir Barkat in the report’s original form regarding Livni’s responses to his inquiry about secret negotiations on Jerusalem;

Barkat said: “Livni’s letter exposes more than anything the fraudulent peace process led by Ramon and the prime minister. Livni refuses to reveal the vital information she knows, of which I was informed by senior officials, that there is a secret channel led by Haim Ramon and Mohammad Rashid and not by the Foreign Ministry.” read more

Still More Proof Olmert Regime Dividing Jerusalem; Shas Remains

.

Commentary;

Despite the increasing blatancy of the Olmert Regime’s division of Jerusalem, Shas remains in the government. Quite frankly, one must doubt that they would even make good their most recent empty “threat” to leave the government over bakeries selling and restaurants serviing Hametz during Pesach. The Shas party and its leadership have shown themselves to be a shallow, external appearing “religious” party, totally lacking ANY Jewish principles or values. One Gentile blogger looking at Shas’ hypocrisy has a point; They are pathetic. MB read more

From the Horse’s Mouth: Livni: Jerusalem on the Table

.
Commentary;

One must question whether this report is even eligible for posting on this blog as it is axiomatic that the Olmert regime has been dividing Jerusalem since prior to day 1 of Annapolis.

But perhaps, this short report is notable for the very reason stated above. Further, it keeps us focused on the FACTS that Shas knowingly remains in a government which, by it’s active role in dividing Jerusalem, signifies that it actively craves the division and eradication of Jewishness from Israelis. In the end, unless Shas leaves the government, it will eventually fulfill its own self-fulfilling prophesy, as noted by Dr Aaron Lerner of IMRA, whereby “for ‘pikuach nefesh’ (life endangering situation) Israel has to cut a deal on Jerusalem at all costs.” read more

Another Group of Politicians’ Lame Balks About Jerusalem Divide

.
Commentary;

This blog cautions against undue optimism regarding these 11 Kadima MKs and their faction meeting of yesterday. Don’t expect them to be any more serious about their so-called “red lines,” Kadima’s platform and a united Jerusalem under Jewish control, than Shas has been about theirs [If they start talking about, no make that continue to talk about dividing Jerusalem…]. Israel’s political, governmental leaders — it’s all about enhancement of personal power, spoils and self-aggrandizement, while blantantly ignoring the nation’s security and well-being. MB read more

Olmert: Duplicitous “Promises”, Shas: Knowingly Duped

.

From the 2000 Camp David Summit: Barak’s Jerusalem Division Map

Commentary;

This author, and many others, have received this message from Pini Itzchaky, advisor to Shas Chaver Knesset Atias, in response to the ongoing email bombardment of Shas MKs demanding that they leave the Olmert regime;

The Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert: “It has been said and agreed between me and between the head of the Palestinian Authority Abu Mazen, that Jerusalem that is an important and emotional subject. We will not start this emotional negotiation, which could bring to failure of the talks. We postponed the TIPUL of Jerusalem until the last stage.” read more

Shas Concedes Jerusalem Talks Took Place, Despite Threat?

.

Commentary;

Eli Yishai and the Shas party are looking more foolish, inept and incapable by the day.

Yishai has repeatedly promised to topple Olmert and his coalition the moment that they begin trying to bargain away Yerushalayim. R’ Ovadia Yoseph has mandated this promise.

Despite all of Ehud Olmert’s deceit and broken promises, Shas continues to remain in the Olmert government.

Now we find Yishai making a grievously ridiculous statement;

“…If negotiations on Jerusalem continue, Shas will immediately leave the government.” read more

Political Fallout From Olmert/Livni Jerusalem Division: Shas Stays Put

.

Commentary;

There is apparently no movement yet by the Shas party to leave Olmert’s coalition despite yesterday’s stark revelation of the truth, as posted here, that Olmert and Livni are brazenly dividing up Jerusalem in secret, behind closed, secure doors. One can only hope R’Ovadia reads the papers and is now able to see through the political con-job being perpetrated by Shas’ leaders. MB

Comments On the 4 Major Party Leaders

.
Commentary:

We’ll begin with the totally absurd first.

It appears as if the election position of Ehud Barak and his Labor party has become sooo dire that he has completely given up on wooing centerist voters in favor of bringing Meretz voters back. Otherwise, why else would he offer such an outrageously absurd idea as a 48-kilometer tunnel connecting Gaza with Judea “…under Israeli sovereignty with Palestinian control of the traffic”?

According to Israel National News reports on Barak’s Gaza-Judea tunnel scheme: read more

Shas to Endorse Netanyahu as PM — Yishai: Strong Shas Prevents Bibi Hurting Them

.

Commentary:

Shas party leader Eli Yishai claims that his endorsement of Netanyahu for prime minister is a statement that “a strong Shas will protect the weak socioeconomic groups in Israeli society.” Yishai notes that “Shas will prevent Likud from hurting them again.”

The point here is that this is ALL about money, and the restoration of all of the benefits which Bibi lopped-off in his monetary reform measures as Treasury minister under Sharon. The point is NOT about saying no to a PA (sic) state, dividing Jerusalem, NOT about saying no to expelling hundreds of thousands of Jews from Jewish land, NOT about fighting a war to WIN, be it in Gaza, Lebanon, etc., and not about saying NO to handing the Golan to Syria. History has shown clearly that Shas puts up no threat whatsoever to either Bibi or Livni regarding dividing Jerusalem or handing Jewish land to Arabs. read more
