Feiglin, Manhigut Yehudit Confront Olmert’s and Ramon’s Plans and Schemes to Divide Jerusalem Sovereignty With Abbas

.
Commentary;

Recently Bitterlemons.org conducted an interview with Palestinian Waqf supervisor Adnan Husseini. Here is the text of the point he made;

Husseini: We want a city with two sovereignties, open to each other and with full recognition between the two sides. There will certainly be technical issues that will need practical resolution, but nothing to do with the fundamental issues of land sovereignty.

The holy places are a closed file. This is not negotiable. The Aqsa Mosque is not something that can be compromised on, nor is the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This is a closed file. The Old City is the heart of East Jerusalem, and everything else is the natural extension of this city. read more

Olmert Regime Benign on Abbas Latest Ploy; Barghouti’s “Liberation of the Land” [All of Israel] …

Our World: Abbas’s Newest Big Lie, by Caroline Glick

Excerpts;

Fresh from her tete-a-tete with PA leader Mahmoud Abbas last week, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni instructed her press flack to tell her fellow cabinet ministers to remain mum on Abbas’s latest “diplomatic” gambit. In the words of her communications director Shai Ben Maor, Abbas’s decision to turn a document written by convicted Palestinian murderers and attempted murderers sitting in Israeli prisons into the centerpiece of his diplomatic policy is “an internal Palestinian issue” and so Israel should not be weighing in on it. read more

Parshat Chukas 5770: Rachel Imeinu’s Tefillot: Dividing Line Between Corruption and Caring?

by Moshe Burt

The placement in Torah of the Parah Adumah in our Parsha Chukat raises questions as to why it and it’s Halachot are mentioned here in our Parsha; only after Korach’s rebellion and after the continued murmuring of the Am against Moshe Rabbeinu, after the plague which killed thousands only ending with Aaron’s carrying an incense pan amongst the people (upon Moshe’s instruction), and after the story of the rods.

“Rabbi Artscroll” presents one answer to the question of placement in a commentary in The Stone Chumash on the words at the beginning of our Parsha “…el Moshe, v’el Aaron” [1] The answer speaks of the symbolism of the Parah Adumah (the Red Heiffer) coming to atone for the sin of the Eigel Zahav (the Golden Calf) “… as if to say let the Mother come and clean up the mess left by her child…” read more

In our Parsha Tetzaveh, the laws regarding the annointment, the vestments and the Avodah (service) of the Kohanim are enunciated for the Jewish people.

While preparing this Parsha HaShavua, this author came across a puzzling quote in Torah Gems by Aharon Yaakov Greenberg on our Parsha.

The quote, which is cited (pg 192) relates to perek 28, parsha 15; “And you will make the breastplate of judgement with the work of an artisan…” and is attributable to someone called “Akeidah”, reads; read more

Livni on Olmert Dividing Jerusalem, Expelling 60,000 Jews: Denial or Total Tandem?

.
Commentary;

The Jerusalem Post’s Gil Hoffman reports on Foreign Minister and Kadima party prime ministerial candidate Tzipi Livni’s denial of involvement with the concessions revealed in acting-prime minister Olmert’s recent Yediot Aharonot interview as having allegedly been made by the two of them during negotiations with PA president Mahmoud Abbas:

Will someone please tell this author how these two statements differ:

Olmert reported statement to US envoy George Mitchell:

He and Livni agreed to divide Jerusalem, maintain only settlement blocs in the West Bank and uproot 60,000 Jews from their homes. read more
